February Goals 2017

February Goals 2017

The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things. – Henry Ward Beecher

Can you believe that it’s already February? When I look back on January, although the month seemed to fly by, it was a full month. I relaunched the blog, moved offices, spent some quality time with loved ones, and reflected on living intentionally. I’ve been rebuilding connections with people and trying to improve the quality of my life.

This month, to start with where I left off from last month with playing the guitar, I wanted to continue exploring my creative side. I find that it’s a good to have a healthy balance of hobbies and learning new skills.

Before I get to this month’s goals, here’s how my January Goals went:

 Cook with something unusual

I cooked with calamansi.

 Try a new restaurant

I ate at a new-to-me Russian/Uzbekistan restaurant.

Learn to play a song on the guitar

This is on-going. The song I’ve been able to relatively play is “Collide” by Howie Day.

My Top Three Goals for February

 Learn to knit

I have been trying to learn to knit on and off for years now. I’ve never taken a class or had anyone show me how maybe it’s because I’m stubborn but I’m determined to learn on my own without getting frustrated and tossing my ball of yarn across the room.

 Decorate my cubicle

My office location has moved and on top of a new-to-us location, we have brand new furniture! My old office was really dark, drab, and lacked any natural light. With our new location, there’s is an entire wall of glass that overlooks the first floor but receives light from the skylight. I am totally getting a plant.

 Plan a wardrobe capsule

I hate staring at my closet full of clothes and only getting used out of maybe half of what is in my closet. It’s a waste of space and money. I’ve slowly been purging and donating clothes and now I want to organize my closet and create a wardrobe with intention.
